This butcher block is made with an end grain cutting surface, which provides a nice hard surface that will last. The cutting area is 18" x 14 1/2" with a hefty thickness of 2", this butcher block provides a very large cutting surface for those big dinners.  The board also has finger grooves on the under sides for easy carrying, and also looks nice as a display piece on a counter top.
